As if we needed further proof that the real estate market in New York City makes living virtually impossible for most of the planet, even those with excellent jobs, Sotheby’s has listed on it’s website a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with an asking price of $13.5 million. What in the world would ever make a 2 bedroom apartment anywhere be worth $13 million? That’s an excellent question, even to us. Let’s start with granted that it does have a Fifth Avenue address, 875 at the cross of 69th street, penthouse views over Central Park, with a 44 foot wide balcony, but really, almost $7 million per bedroom? And by the looks of the kitchen, it’s going to need some work. We’ll take a pass.
If you care to see the listing for yourself, feel free to.
