Back in May Architectural Direst did a spread on the Home of Carlos Mota in the Dominican Republic, we were blown away by the photos, not so much the photos themselves obviously, but the style that Carlos has chosen for his home. A very modern-ish simple abode, but with touches that really let it stand out and gave it a personality. Modern architecture is very easy to do, but very hard to do right – anybody can make a white box, it isn’t that hard and it doesn’t take that much thought. But to make a white box and then personalize it, fill it with life and color, while still maintaining a light and airy cleanliness is something all together different. We like to think that a home is a canvas for us all to work on. Mota has done it well.
