The 1950’s are back, and have been for awhile, at least in the design and architecture world. While there is a lot of 1950’s design that may leave a bit to be desired, tastefully speaking, done right a good home from the era can turn into an incredible masterpiece. AD did a wonderful spread of John Goldwyn and Jeff Klein’s 1950’s LA home a while back and we thought this would be a great opportunity to give our opinion, not just on the home but what to look for if you’re in the market for a fabulous fixer upper.
The brick chimney, painted white with the oversized floor to ceiling glass walls – check. Must have.
Neutral tones compliment the white walls and spaces, dark wood floors and disappearing curtains. Done.
White kitchen cabinetry, this is no place to get wild on color, keep it bright and well lite.
